The University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences
seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate
Professor in the field of pharmaceutics and drug delivery. The newly formed Department of
Pharmaceutical Sciences comprises the basic science disciplines within the UIC College of Pharmacy.
The Department’s reputation as a research-active unit is bolstered by its collaborative environment.
The UIC College of Pharmacy is in the heart of the Illinois Medical District, which includes the UIC
Medical Center, College of Medicine, the UIC Hospital, and other health science colleges. The College
of Pharmacy is ranked among the Top Ten U.S. Colleges of Pharmacy in total funding from the
National Institutes of Health.
The College of Pharmacy has complementary strengths in analytical and medicinal chemistry,
pharmacognosy, pharmacology, proteomics, and clinical pharmacy with emphasis on cancer, women’s
health, neuropharmacology, and infectious diseases. We are particularly interested in candidates with
research interests that will complement these Departmental, College, and University research efforts
and focusing on novel methods of cell delivery, biopharmaceutical delivery and pharmaceutical
biotechnology. Candidates should be prepared to develop an independent, extramurally funded
research program. Teaching in the professional and graduate programs of the College of Pharmacy is
